Teaching Notebook

DIRECTIONS:

At the end of the term, turn in a teaching notebook that contains the materials you have developed throughout the term and that presents these materials in an organized, thoughtful, professional way;.

The notebook should serve as a portfolio of your activities in this class and of your performance as a literacy tutor.

In this notebook, include your literacy survey, your tutoring log and reflections, your final tutoring report(s), the lesson plan for your in-class teaching session, your final unit/lesson plan, and a copy of your digital literacy/altered book project.

GOALS:

This assignment will help you develop the habit of keeping a teaching notebook for every class

The assignment will also help you think about how to organize this material so that it is helpful to others who want to learn about your teaching performance.

HINTS FOR SUCCESS

• Organize your portfolio for easy reading: use sections, tabs, a Table of Contents, different colors

• Present materials professionally—people will judge your teaching performance on the basis of these materials.

•. Keep back-ups of every thing! You are responsible for having copies of all activities completed in this class.
