Multiliteracies Center

Michigan Tech Multiliteracies Center

The Michigan Tech Multiliteracies Center works with undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff on all varieties of academic writing, reading, and speaking tasks. This includes assignments in Perspectives classes, Revisions classes, World Cultures classes, as well as assignments in other courses. It also includes specific genres such as dissertations, research proposals, and conference presentations and specific challenges, such as learning to document source material, developing critical reading and thinking habits, adjusting to American idioms, writing expectations and speaking styles as an international student or faculty member. The Multiliteracies Center also works with students who have specific learning disabilities.

In 2007, the Michigan Tech Multiliteracies Center won the National Writing Program of Excellence Award. It was the only writing center to receive this award in 2007 and the second writing center to be recognized in the history of the award.

For more information about the Michigan Tech Multiliteracies Center, such as hours of operation, or how to apply to be a writing coach, please see the Multiliteracies Center website.
