Writing Center
Nancy Grimm, Director

The MTU Writing Center, staffed by two full-time professionals, as well as by graduate students in the Rhetoric and Technical Communication program and by undergraduate students from disciplines all across campus, coach fellow students in their writing and course work. The Center works with students, faculty and staff to meet the challenges of communicating in a global and diverse environment. The staff provides individual coaching for undergraduate students, especially for those enrolled in Perspectives courses, for graduate students, and for students who have learning disabilities. They also offer study teams for students enrolled in World Cultures General Education classes. In addition, the Center also runs the International Graduate Student Assistant Assistance Program (IGTAAP) which works with international graduate teaching assistants on their English skills, classroom presentation strategies, and cultural understanding.
