To
ensure that all students receive the necessary individual
attention and ample opportunity to participate in
class, an appropriate capacity has been designated
for each course and will be adhered to. However,
here are two suggestions that may help you get into
a closed class. Be prepared with a back-up plan,
though, in case you are not able to add the class
through either of these means.
- Check
with the registrar's office regularly to see if
any seats have opened in the class. If so, add
the class.
- Attend
the class during the first week. After the class
has met twice, ask the instructor if there are
students on the roll sheet who have not been attending.
If so, ask the instructor to write a note to the
department representative requesting that you
be admitted to the class. Take the note to the
appropriate representative listed below to get
an official add slip. Finally, take the add slip
to the registrar's office.
Although
the days and times representatives have available
to meet with students change each term, the following
individuals are responsible for meeting with students
regarding the respective courses. Please see schedules
posted in Walker at the beginning of each term for
more specific information on when these representatives
are available. If they are not able to get you into
the course of your choice, they can help you to
identify alternative courses that are still open.
