English as a Second Language
Welcome!
Welcome to the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Michigan Tech.
As a Michigan Tech ESL student, you will attend classes on the University campus with other university students. You will have access to a computer lab, a language lab, learning centers, the university library, and much more. While you are completing ESL study, you will begin your transition to academic study in your chosen major. ESL students will study for a degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, and many other majors offered here.
We look forward to introducing you to a safe and friendly place where you will study English and prepare for academic study at the university.
Sincerely,
Fran Wiideman
Director of the ESL Program
