Welcome!
Welcome to the Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Michigan Tech.
As a Michigan Tech ESL student, you will attend classes on the University campus with other university students. You will have access to a computer lab, learning centers, the university library, and much more. While you are completing ESL study, you will begin your transition to academic study in your chosen major. ESL students may study for a degree in any of the many majors offered. Examples of majors are Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Business and Scientific and Technical Communication.

Our Mission and Goals
Mission: To contribute to diversity by attracting qualified international students and providing them with English language instruction to prepare them for undergraduate and graduate study at Michigan Tech.
Goals: To provide high quality instruction in English as a second language for academic purposes for international students to prepare them for academic study at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the university; to provide academic support in ESL for undergraduate, graduate, and exchange students; to provide orientation, advising, and other assistance for international students to prepare them for academic study at Michigan Tech.
