Courses
Placement Test
At the beginning of the semester, students take a placement test and are placed in the appropriate level of courses. The placement test includes listening comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. A short interview is conducted to test speaking fluency.
Students are registered for ESL courses through the Office of Student Records and Registration.
The classes are small. Beginning level classes may have 6-10 students per class. Intermediate level classes have 8-12 students per class. Advanced and transitional level classes have 10-15 students per class.

Academic Support Level Courses
for seniors, exchange or graduate students:
- ESL 0510 Academic Support Writing: 3 credits
- ESL 0520 Academic Support Listening/Speaking: 3 credits
