As shy, self-conscious, future Dr. I was literally dropped off at Michigan Technological University in August of 1999 by my Momma and Step-Daddy. My younger sister also was brave enough to endure the 500-plus, 8 to 12 hour ride to Houghton, Michigan. That was 7 years ago.
