All CIWIC classes will be held on campus in Michigan Technological University's Walker Arts and Humanities Center from June 1-14, 2005. Some participants may find it convenient to rent or bring a car. Parking is available. Without a vehicle, you will probably have to do some walking.

MTU is near Lake Superior and surrounded by rivers, lakes, and thousands of acres of forests. The campus is in Houghton, the heart of the colorful Keweenaw Peninsula on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Houghton and its twin city Hancock have approximately 12,000 residents. You can enjoy cycling, swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, and many other kinds of outdoor recreation within walking distance of MTU. Great sightseeing opportunities are within short driving distance. Many local and state campsites are nearby, as is beautiful Isle Royale National Park, accessible by air or water. MTU has its own 18-hole golf course, an outdoor Challenge Course, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and a student gym with cardio, weights, and a newly renovated pool (all available for a minimal daily or weekly fee).
