International GTA Assistance Program (IGTAAP)
IGTAAP is a program for all international graduate students who want to work on communication. International graduate students who want to become teaching assistants can work with a coach to prepare a mini lesson. Come to the Writing Center to sign up for a weekly appointment and/or a small group discussion session.
Individual Appointments

In our weekly one-hour appointments, you and a coach can work together on:
- Preparing a mini-lesson
- Practicing conversation
- Improving presentation strategies
- Sharing cultures
- Building vocabulary
- Improving pronunciation
- Learning slang and idioms
- Enhancing listening
- Practicing reading and writing

Discussion groups
(Fall, 2006)
- Wednesday 11:00-12:00 and 4:00-5:00
- Fridays 2:00-3:00
During weekly small group discussion sessions, two coaches prepare group discussion activities to give you practice at speaking out spontaneously, listening to others, and learning about different perspectives.
