Games, Schmames!
MIRRORS:
Two players mirror each other by maintaining eye contact and moving in slow, fluid motions. Maintaining eye contact is important--although there is a strong tendency to focus on a particular body part as it moves, you should trust your periphery, primarily because you will likely miss other movements if you focus is not centered.
The players take turns leading, where the other player is the 'follower.'
Variations:
- With heightened focus and experience in the game, you can "follow the follower," in which neither player really leads. In my experience, this generally consists of each player 'giving and taking' the lead at random times. Once in a great while, though, you may find that you really don't know who is leading. That's cool.
- Another variant is "Sound mirrors," in which one player "sounds" by creating a continuous stream of various noises and the other player "mirrors" by letting their body react to the sounds. The emphasis is not on creating a scene based on the sound but simply to focus on the sounds you hear and letting your body move to those sounds however they make you feel. I believe that the player "sounding" is simply supposed to create sound, but I could be mistaken.
