HUMAN KNOT:
This is an exercise in team work and following directions from peers, as well as Give and Take. The students come together in a rough circle and reach across grasping no more than one hand of the same person until everyone has two hands grasped. It is important to note
that each student should pay close attention to the directions at the beginning of the exercise.
Without letting go of hands, the students are instructed to undo the knot by going under, over and through the spaces created by the arms and hands of those around them.
Different variations on this exercise include appointing one student as the spokesperson, and requiring all others remain silent. Or to appoint one student as the spokesperson, and have all other students close their eyes and work only by feel and listening to the spokesperson verbal directions.
