Submission GuidelinesC Literary Magazine, in its thirdyear of publication at Michigan Tech, is looking for submissions. Please read the submission guidelines below. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines risk not being reviewed for acceptance/publication. If you have questions about these guidelines, or how to follow them, please contact the editors. (1) We encourage any genre, from any student, faculty member, staff person, or community member. All work must be original. (2) All submissions must be in electronic format. (3) They can be submitted to litmag@mtu.edu (if under 5 Megs) or interofficed or dropped off in CD-ROM, ZIP, or floppy disk format to:
Please label the disk with your name and C Literary Magazine. Disks will not be returned. (4) Artwork must be scanned or made available in the following resolutions:
Art submissions MUST be sent as TIFF or EPS files, not JPEG or GIF. If you need help meeting these specifications, please contact the editors and we will be happy to help you. NOTE: Most or all submissions will be published in black and white. Editors will change your artwork to grayscale once we have accepted it for publication, but please be aware that some detail in color art may be lost on conversion, and choose your submissions considering this fact. If submitting artwork by email, please ZIP or otherwise compress the files so they don't crash our email system. (5) Written submissions can be accepted in Word, WordPerfect, or Text files. See the editors for other available submission forms. Avoid non-standard fonts, as the magazine uses a standard font (Adobe Garamond, similar to Times New Roman) and will only deviate under extreme circumstances. (6) Electronic-only submissions are also encouraged, and will be published on our web site corresponding with the print publication. We will accept digital audio, video, hypertext, and any other format you would like to submit, but these works should be designed to be read only online. Rule of thumb: If we can print it out and the text retains its meaning, we won't publish it online. We prefer cross-genre works and texts that make use of the technology as part of their creativity. (7) All texts will be blind reviewed as part of the acceptance process. Do not include your name or any materials that would identify you on the text you are submitting. (8) Please include a cover letter with your submissions (in the body of the email is fine, or as a printed letter for CD-ROM, etc., submissions) and include the following: your name, email, and address we can reach you at during the school year, the filenames of each piece submitted, the corresponding title of each piece, and its genre(s). (9) All submissions will be acknowledged. Acceptances will be emailed in January. Editors reserve the right to edit your work upon acceptance. The magazine will be published in April, and each contributor will receive one copy.
