Everyone has to create and wear a name tag for at least the first couple of weeks of class because some of your classmates and I are so lame that we can't remember names. I'll supply the little plastic doohickies (I want them BACK); you create the tag. Make you name readable from 10 feet, please.
If you miss more than two classes without excuses and makeups, your grade to be lowered. The key here is communication! If you must miss a class, it is sometimes possible to work out alternative activities IF you contact me before that absence. At any rate, at least have the professional courtesy of checking the class notes taken during each class session, checking with one of your classmates, and then checking with me once you return.
Participation means that if we have readings, that you complete them before class and participate in on-line and face-to-face (F2F) discussions. It also means that you will be prepared to participate in group activites outside of class. Your group members and I will be evaluating your level of preparedness and participation at the end of the term.
