Note 6. on page 289-290 gives his point in summary: even the current print world is based on the electronic discourse that came before it. "The electronic form now embodies the same latitudes which once encompassed the book."

This is remeniscent of my notion of layering. That layers of electronic compositions are taking over or have already taken over the functions of print.

Attributes a great deal to constructive environments where things will be built and read. He attributes a great deal to the reader/writer organizing the traces (links) of their experience as they go. ". . . a self-organizing phase of the reader who replaces the retreating writer" (277).

See middle of 279 for a hint about Joyce's writing style.

On 287 an interesting description of Project Jupiter, a multimedia MOO that you enter represented by the media of your choice: fully virtual or text only. We should see a step in that direction soon our of the Jan and Cynthia.

Wild, chaotic, self-organizing relationships are happening. He's enjoying them while they can be enjoyed.
