Project
Information
10 Minute Documentary
As part of a class I was taking with Dr. Diane Shoos, I captured 11 images from www.goarmy.com, showed them to 9 people who work in visual studies, and created a 10 minute documentary showing what I found.
The documentary is a large file (~ 62 megs) and is a .mov, which can be opened in Quicktime.
Please note: the people I interviewed all had many interesting observations. This short documentary only contains some of these comments. I plan, with the permission of those I interviewed, to begin working on a full-length documentary.
Disciplining Design in/of the Composition Classroom
This is a project that Moe Folk and I worked on in Dr. Erin Smith's class. We looked at the MTU writing program through the lens of Foucault and Bourdieu, and presented our findings at CCCC's RNF. Here's the digital version.
A Pitch for Pitch
I created this video while studying at DMAC, a two week long summer course at The Ohio State University led by Drs. Cindy Selfe and Scott DeWitt. As you notice, the video is hosted on YouTube. I posted it as an example for my Revisions students.
Remediating Baby Sign
When I was learning baby sign to communicate with my daughter, I was also taking a New Media class led by Dr. Anne Wysocki. Here is my final project (also featured on the front page of this website).
Graphic Communications
Overhauled
Dr. Art Young's website into a research data base for those interested
in Communication Across the Curriculum and Poetry Across the
Curriculum.
After redesigning the entire website, I published more than 200 student
poems on the website representing some 40 classes at Clemson
University. Visit the site http://people.clemson.edu/~apyoung
Designed a logo and letterhead for Poetry Across
the Curriculum. These letterheads are also published
as posters and displayed by the 1941 Studio for
Student Communication. Here are two poems on letterheads
you can read: Interracial and Math the Deceiver. Here is a poster of
the popular Fertilization
Poem.
