In response to the problem they were trying to fix and the qualities they determined were important within an effective solution, the students wrote a Software Requirements Specification that described the background purpose and scope of their project. They also included an overall description and the specific requirements of this project.
The project group members met with Dr. Newberry to review the requirements and negotiate their priorities . Dr. Newberry told them that if they “do all of this, it’s a big project.” So they decided what was most important and prioritized them. There were some things that they had to have and some things that would be nice to have. The main goal was to insure that whatever improvements were made functioned perfectly, even if that meant scaling back on some priorities.
