using the multimedia projector
using the VCR
- The key for the multimedia project is available in Walker 135 (the Control Room). The key
is in the drawer at the bottom of the media rack. The key is used to open the cabinet underneath
the media rack and to open the cabinet underneath the projector in Walker 134 to use the remote
control for the projector and the remote control for the VCR.
- Before you leave Walker 135, turn on the top red power switch on the media rack -- all the
sound is controlled by this rack. If you do not turn the power switch on, you will not hear any
sound at all. After turning on the power switch, reset the volume control knob on the media rack
to its middle position (the knob is marked with a "VHS" tag).
- In Walker 134:
- turn on the main power switch on the back of the projector
- turn on the secondary power button on the left front area of the projector
- take off the lens cover and press the "input select" button on the left-front area of the
projector (just beside the "Power" button) until the "Video 1" characters appear on the upper right
hand corner of the screen.
- Open the cabinet door to to get out the remote controls, and turn on the VCR
- Put in your tape, press the "play" to test the volume and the image
If the image looks blurry, you can adjust the focus of the projector using the remote control for
the projector or you can manually sharpen the image by carefully twisting the lens of the
projector.
After finishing using the devices, please remember to turn off the all the power switches in
Walker 134 and 135, including the lighting in both rooms.
using the Mac or PC computers, or the Carousel slide
projector
- Turn on the main power switch on the back of the Multimedia(MM) projector
- Push the "Power" button on the left front area of the projector
- Take off the lens cover and press the "input select" button on the left front area of the
projector (just beside the "Power" button) until the "RGB1","RGB2", or "Video2" characters
appear on the upper right hand corner of the screen
The following is a list of input sources.
- the PC (Spielberg): RGB1
- the Mac (Spike Lee): RGB2
- the VCR: Video1
- the carousel slide projector: Video2
Turn on your working devices, such as the Mac, PC, or the Carousel Slide Projector, and let them
warm up. If you have the input select set correctly, you will see the corresponding image
appearing on the screen. You can shift to any other input sources at any time if you want by
pressing the "input select" button again.

using the wireless microphone, CD player, cassette
tape player, and film projector
- In Walker 135, turn on the the top red power switch on the media rack
- Make sure the power is turned on for all the individual devices you wish to use (each
individual device here has a corresponding volume control knob on the rack and each knob has a
name tag on it)
After finishing using the devices, please remember to turn off the all the
powers, including the lighting in both room. This will prevent the
accidental fire in the rooms. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.
