According to Michigan Tech's Board of Control, the pricing structure for all credit-option conferences and institutes held at Michigan Tech must now charge the full cost of tuition to participants. The CIWIC directors realize, however, that being charged the full rate of tuition would place many potential participants outside the possibility of attending. In order to assure that CIWIC can continue to provide a learning environment for students and teachers in English-studies fields, we are offering a "partial scholarship" to all CIWIC participants. Below is a 4-part chart detailing the Michigan Tech bill you will receive for your participation in CIWIC. The amounts indicated on the bill will depend on which institute you are taking and whether you live in Michigan or not. Please note that the ACTUAL COST TO YOU of the institute is on the LAST LINE of this bill; and, all participants, whether in-state or out-of-state for tuition purposes, will ONLY BE CHARGED THE IN-STATE RATE. For example, all participants of both the Approaches to Integrating Computers and the New Media strands of CIWIC will be charged a total of $1500. All participants who are selected to attend CIWIC-Independent Projects will be charged $1800 (the "course fee" included in this price covers CIWIC's cost of hiring individualized instructors to meet your needs during the two weeks). If you have questions about the pricing structure and actual costs of CIWIC, please contact Alex Ilyasova, who will be happy to explain what otherwise looks like a confusing system. :)
